Stop the stigma.

It’s a sobering fact that on average, 1 in 6 males and 1 in 4 females are likely to be sexually harmed or suffer an unwanted sexual experience by the time they turn 18. Statistics show there’s an even more alarming rate of sexual harm in the LGBTQAI+ and disability communities.

No matter how you look at it, that’s not ok.

Stop the Stigma - You’re not broken: Our latest advertising campaign was launched late last year, and we’re thrilled to get the word out to the community. Thanks to generous support from Wellington City Council, we’ve been able to extend our peer support to all genders, so we will no longer focus exclusively on male survivors. (But don’t worry, we’re still here for you men!)

One to one and peer support groups are survivor-centered, created out of lived experience, to respect and learn from each other, all within a safe space. Our support helps people to find their voice, simply by being able to walk alongside others in the community without shame or stigma.

You’re not alone.

As survivors we often feel compelled to keep sexual harm a secret, so it can be a huge relief to finally share that burden with other survivors. Accessing free services like face-to-face peer support, weekly peer support groups, or social events can play an essential role in the recovery of adult survivors.

One-to-one peer support can help you reconnect with others, while supporting your personal achievement and inclusion in the community. Our weekly peer support groups are a safe place where you can get practical, constructive and helpful information. Hearing from others who are facing similar challenges can also make you feel less alone.
